Early adaptations to training: Upregulation of [alpha]-myosin heavy chain gene expression
Article Abstract:
A research is conducted to find if the changes in left ventricular (LV) contractile elements are an early adaptation to chronic exercise. It was hypothesized that increased myofibrillar [alpha]-myosin heavy chain (MHC) protein and [alpha]-MHC-mRNA expressions are early events in the adaptation to chronic exercise occurring before remarkable cardiac growth and the adaptations improve the myocardial contractility and allow rise in maximal cardiac output during vigorous exercises.

Carnosine and anserine ingestion enhances contribution of nonbicarbonate buffering
Article Abstract:
A study aims to investigate the effect of supplementation with the chicken breast extract (CBEX), which is a rich source of carnosine and anserine, on acid-base balance and performance during intense intermittent exercise. The result reveals that although oral supplementation with CBEX increased the contribution of the nonbicarbonate buffering action decreased bicarbonate-buffering action in blood, intense intermittent exercise performance did not improve significantly.

Cerebral cortical adaptations associated with visuomotor practice
Article Abstract:
An exploratory analysis of event-related alpha power (ERAP) mean power and slope was done to determine the extent of cerebral cortical changes associated with practice over a spatially distributed topography. The study revealed that cortical adaptations were not just localized to the left temporal region but were spatially distributed.
